all kitties stand attention! Please check out other entries in Feline Friday,
( in the comment section) hosted by Steven of Sometimes(photo)blog

(L - R: Ikaikalani, Nohea, Hiwa Lani, Kolohe, and a somewhat distracted Kauionalani)

Steven hosts Feline Friday and this week, I
captured Ikaikalani going "YIKES!" Apologies on my late entry this week ... we
were busy on Friday, hands full with Princess Kaylyn in my care as the Dr's
brought her new sister into this world! We had just arrived home from visiting
baby sister at the hospital, and she threw herself on the floor with the cats
and started loving on them all! Ikaikalani's look was
priceless!

It's Feline Friday! This week, I thought I'd do something a little different. The Round Robin Challenge
just launched a "Flower Power" challenge, and I still have flowers on
my mind! No worries, I won't be doing this very often ~ the cats
were just not very cooperative!
In this
first picture, I found Kolohe and Kaui on the guest bed in my craft
room. Kaui thinks everytime I go upstairs, I need to go in there
... she races me and charges into the room hoping I would follow!

Here you see
Nohea upstairs next to my hat boxes. I'm not so sure the
wallpaper compliments anything, but Nohea's coloring broke up the clash
of colors. I put a flower hair tie on Hiwa Lani and she made a
cute Aloha Kitty!
I couldn't
bring myself to do the flower thing with Ikaikalani, but he jumped on
the table next to the honu (hawaiian sea turtle) and I was able to
capture the shot beforehe ran off. Kolohe, means "rascal" and he
certainly is! He loves to climb up my illuminated palm tree,
earning him the PERFECT Aloha Friday snapshot.
I roamed about the property this afternoon looking for interesting subjects to photograph. Got some mushrooms and other interesting items for future challenges. I headed to the pasture to check on the girls. There's usually always something worth capturing on film out their way. I almost choked as I saw Maile laying flat on her side, head turned up ward. Oh My GOSH ... Lord, please don't let her be DEAD ! ! !

Why I did what I did next is beyond me! I snapped a shot of her, THEN I called out her name ... it looked like she was breathing ... her belly heaved in and out ever so slowly ... good sign ~ at least she was not dead, YET. "MAILE!" I bellowed (don't laugh! I really can bellow if deemed necessary!) A startled Maile shook the flies off her nose and stood up very fast. AAAAAAAAARGH ... WHY ME!!! They are like pranksters! I looked in their water tub ... it was empty. I wonder if she was exaggerating "dying of thirst" .. perhaps, but a bit overdone, don't you think. Look closely at the photograph, doesn't it LOOK like she's dead?

We
have had an amazing amount of people drive by and either pull over to the side,
or completely turn around to have a second look at these strange newcomers to
this side of the country. Our yaks have drawn a crowd. When we explain where
we live to perfect strangers, as soon as we say County Rte with black fence,
they know EXACTLY where we live and HOW many yaks we have!!!
This amazes me, especially as we are
not that busy a route! So, here it is, spring by all
means, and our once gorgeous thick coated yaks are beginning to shed their
coats. YIKES, you think we'll be turned in for negligence? Here you will find
them totally CHILLING in an afternoon siesta.
Of late, he is intent on figuring out how things work .. I caught him underneath, taking a peek at things from the underside ... LUCKY for him, it was not time for my daily jog!

My precious ones! The kitty basket was put under the coffee table as a sort of deterrent, kinda "outta sight, outta mind" in hopes of giving the kittens a LITTLE rest from the Precious One. The kittens are at their best behaviour when Princess appears. They are also very tolerant to her antics .. I mean, she just wants to LOVE KITTY! The Precious one also moves a LOT! Securing a "blur-free" photograph of her many times more than not, can be quite the challenge. "Be still, for just one moment Precious, while Grandma turns on the camera" ... "NO NO don't move", " .. there we go ... wait hold still" ... "Don't squish kitty ... THERE!" She had completely crawled in the basket with the kitties, when thankfully, her interest had shifted to see if she could get that camera from grandma!

It was awfully hard for
GRANDMA to bend down and get a shot with kitties and baby hiding under the
coffee table. I managed, and at first I thought how cute, then I saw there was
more cropped off than not and thought I'd get a better shot next time. Most
photographers know that NEXT TIME never happens, and I'm glad I didn't dispose
of this shot ... how can you resist those eyes! You think Kolohe (by the look
of his ONE eye in the picture) was thinking "UGH, you cow, get off
me!"??

Above is one
of my favorite pictures of the cats ... of course what better way to
get back at human mother than to keep her from her other passion ...
COMPUTER TIME!
.
. . . Human Mother, unaware of these naughty antics, invests in a "spare" package of tasty Delicacies for her precious kittens. Thinking ahead, she stores them in bathroom in back of closet. Later that evening, upon ascending to the bedroom, a very strongscent of Human Mother dusting powder is coming from the bathroom. Very suspicious indeed! Upon OPENING sliding door, there sits the upsidedown dusting powder container .. .. yes, very suspicious indeed. A few items are toppled from lower shelf, but nothing else is apparently amiss. Human mother leaves crime scene, truly puzzled. WHY would the kittens SLIDE OPEN the bathroom door and MESS with dusting powder. There are not prissy cats at all. Half way out the door, Human Mother stops dead in her tracks ... darts back to the bathroom to check on precious delicacies recently purchased and stashed. AHA! MIA! GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR .. she immediately hunts down one KOLOHE kitten, but comes first upon OH SO SWEET Kaui Kitten ... sitting sweetly on guest bed, paws crossed in front. OH HOW SWEET ... come here sweetie ...
She doesn't BUDGE. COME HERE I said ... Human Mother reaches down to pick up OH SO SWEET Kaui Kitten, only to discover her HIDING a Five Pack of MICE that had been stashed for future ! ! ! ! AARRGHHHHH!!! The kittens are ganging up on me!!! Outsmarted by a Six month old kitten.
